Technique #1 ~
Cascading Layered Glaze Vase
You will need an appropriate cone 04 bisque
vase and the following Mayco products:
S2590 - Intense Yellow
Glaze PC602 - White
Cascade Glaze S2726 -
Cheetah Crystlites Glaze
NOTE: S2590 has been discontinued. You
might consider trying EL128 Wheat in
place of the S2590 Intense Yellow. We think the brown overtones in the
Elements glaze would meld beautifully with the dark golden crystals in the
Cheetah glaze. Or, try your own glaze combinations! |
 Cascading Layered Glaze Vase
Technique #1 |
1.Wipe bisque dust off using a damp sponge. 2.
Thin half of the Intense Yellow and roll inside vase. Allow excess to drain
from vase before continuing. 3. Apply 3 coats of Intense Yellow glaze to
the entire vase, drying between coats. 4. Apply 2 coats White Cascade over
upper portion of vase, forming a nice looking drip pattern around vase. 5.
Apply 3 coats of Cheetah over the White Cascade, leaving a ridge of White
Cascade all around. Carefully place large crystals in final coat. Be aware of
drip pattern, don't place large crystals too close to the bottom of the White
Cascade. Allow to dry thoroughly. 6. Stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
