Technique #8 ~
Note: Try this technique using Mayco's PC602 White Cascade in place of the Magic Flow and your choice of glazes for the background and main flower colors. Experiment and see what exciting piece you can dream up!

Cover bisque with 4 flowing coats of Fieldstone
glaze, inside and out. Allow the glaze to dry between coats.
Cover most
of the jar top with 2 coats of Magic Flow. Allow the glaze to dry between
coats. Set aside.
Draw tulip pattern at various heights onto sides of
jar, adding long tulip type leaves to each. Paint one tulip with White Birch,
one Robin's Egg, one Purple Dusk, and one Golden Plains. Paint leaves with
Green Ash.
Using a smaller brush, paint strokes of Bright Wine over
White Birch, shading from bottom and leaving some white showing. Using the same
shading technique, paint Bright Nautical over Robin's Egg, Bright Papaya over
Golden Plains and Bright Grape over Purple Dusk. Shade and detail the leaves
with Bright Kelp.
When all painting is done, use a long liner brush to
outline petals and leaves with 2 coats of Magic Flow. Add stems in the same
manner. Using a round brush paint Magic Flow around rim and base of jar and dot
blobs of Magic Flow on jar in various places. Allow to dry. Stilt and fire to
cone 06.
