Rustic Rooster
You will need an appropriate cone 04 bisque
rooster teabag holder (we used Nowell's #3222) and the following Duncan
products:
CN 232 Bright Briarwood - Concepts underglaze for
bisque CN 103 Dark Heather - Concepts underglaze for bisque CN 113 Dark
Delft - Concepts underglaze for bisque CN 183 Dark Kiwi - Concepts
underglaze for bisque CN 073 Dark Scarlet - Concepts underglaze for
bisque CN 052 Bright Tangerine - Concepts underglaze for bisque CN053
Dark Tangerine - Concepts underglaze for bisque CN 033 Dark Butternut -
Concepts underglaze for bisque CN 253 Dark Black - Concepts underglaze for
bisque CY110 Iron Ore - Courtyard Glaze Soft fan brush Liner

1.Wipe bisque dust off using a damp sponge. 2.
Thin CN 232 Bright Briarwood to a wash consistency and apply one (1) coat to
entire rooster. 3. When dry use a sponge dampened with water and wipe back
to create an antiquing effect. 4. Apply two (2) coats of the following
colors to the tail feathers in this order from the top: CN 103 Dark Delft
CN 113 Dark Kiwi CN033 Dark Butternut CN 053 Dark Tangerine CN
103 Dark Delft CN 113 Dark Kiwi 5. Apply a third coat to the tail
feathers by loading a round brush with the color of feather and side loading
with CN 073 Dark Scarlet. Keep side of brush with Scarlet to the topside of the
feather when applying the third coat. 6. Apply one (1) coat of CN 052
Bright Tangerine with the round brush to the chest feathers, feet, beak and
thighs. 7. Apply one (1) coat of CN 033 Dark Butternut with the round brush
to the neck feathers and area around the eye. 8. Apply three (3) coats of
CN 073 Dark Scarlet to the waddle and comb with the round brush. 9. Three
(3) coats of CN 253 Dark Black are applied to the eyes using the a liner brush.
10. Load the Liner with CN 033 Dark Butternut and side load with CN 183
Dark Kiwi. Apply to side feathers one (1) coat. 11. Let dry. Use a fan
brush and apply two (2) good coats of CY 110 Iron Ore to entire rooster.
12. Let dry, stilt and fire to shelf cone 06.
