Our friend Fay sent us this tip using the new Riverview mold #1075
and Mardi Gras Lustre -
Using Mardi Gras is easy.
Paint,
glaze and fire the ceramic item you intend to apply the Mardi Gras to. Wipe the
glaze with alcohol and allow to dry. This will remove any fingerprints and/or
dust. Pour a small amount of Mardi Gras on your palette (we recommend using a
throw-away styrofoam plate) and dip a clean brush or cotton swab in the luster.
Now swirl the luster over the areas where you want the Mardi Gras to show up.
Fay swirled it on over (fired) blue EZ Strokes and dotted it onto white areas.
Look at the picture to see how you can use your imagination to apply the
Mardi Gras in unexpected areas. The over-all look is fabulous. Fay fired to
cone 018.
Thanks to Fay for this tip and the great pictures!

Our Gare glazes are nearly sold out. When they are gone we will
not be getting more. If there is a color you want you'd better get it while it
is still in stock!
We've just found a website that will be of interest to those of
you doing glass jewelry. They have a small glass kiln that can be used in the
microwave to fuse glass together for pendants, earrings and pins in just a few
minutes. And, it can also be used for precious metal clays. The kiln is on sale
right now, too! Check it out.
