Insider Tip - More Glaze Layering
Layering glazes always adds an interesting perspective to nearly any design. Previous insider tips have discussed layering glazes and we decided to discuss it again for our newer readers, and to remind our seasoned readers of this great effect. There are so many possible variations on this tip, that this effect never appears dated and can be spectacular. The vase pictured above was just made by painting the bottom 2/3 with Mayco's S2727 Poppy Fields Crystalite glaze. Then, the top 1/3 and the inside were painted with S2172 Bright Orange. Then, SG202 White Cobblestone was applied over the Bright Orange. As you can see, the results of this simple method are outstanding. Be sure to try this for yourself, with your own favorite colors.
