This cute little egg box is done by sponging on layer after layer
of EZ Strokes color. Super Easy! You will need a cleaned piece of greenware of
your choice, a sponge or two, a glazed tile and a piece of aluminum foil, in
addition to the EZ Strokes colors.
Start by pouring a small puddle of
EZ018 Chartreuse on the tile. Add a drop or two of water and mix well. Wet your
sponge (a natural sponge works best) and squeeze thoroughly. Now dip one edge
or side of your sponge in the Chartreuse and pounce the sponge on the aluminum
foil. This equals out the tone of the color. Now begin pouncing the color onto
your greenware. Reload your sponge as needed and continue pouncing until your
entire piece has color on it. The color does not have to be even and it does
not have to cover fully. Let it dry a bit. It does not have to be completely
dry to continue.
Now pour a small puddle of EZ105 Neon Green on the tile
and add water. Use the same dipping and pouncing technique to put this color
over the first. Do not cover the first color entirely. You want the different
shades to all be visible. When this color covers your greenware to your liking,
do the same with EZ103 Neon Chartreuse, and later finish up by pouncing on a
light coverage of EZ037 Black. Look at the egg box to see how the different
colors all show through and how the black accents the colors and give a
marble-like look to the piece. When you are happy with the look of your piece
allow it to dry thoroughly. If desired you can use a liner brush to paint thin
lines here and there to simulate real marble. Fire to cone 04.
Apply 3
coats GL612 or clear glaze of your choice. Stilt and fire to cone 06.
