Brushes - Sometimes even well cared for brushes become wild and
bushy looking. Here is a simple solution to tame those bristles that just won't
lay flat. Dip them into hair styling gel, massage a bit to get the gel all the
way through the bristles, then shape the brush into its original shape. Wrap
the brush in a bit of plastic wrap and lay in the freezer overnight. When you
remove the brush in the morning you will find that the bristles have once again
resumed their original shape. Be sure to thoroughly clean the gel from the
brush before using. Remember to always wash and reshape your brush after every
use. Lay flat to dry, never dry brushes with the bristles pointing upward.
Painting Mistakes - If you accidentally get Concepts or a glaze on an
area where you do not want that color there is a simple solution. Allow the
paint to dry, then use a clean white eraser to gently rub the offending color
away.
Easter is early this year. Don't wait until the last minute to
make your ceramic eggs, ducklings, baby chicks and bunnies! Other popular
Easter items are baskets, spring planters and vases to hold all those flowers
you're going to grow this year. And, it won't be long until gift giving time
for graduates, new babies and June weddings. Let us not forget that Mother's
Day and Father's Day will be here sooner than we realize, too. What are you
waiting for? Start painting!
The returning Courtyard glazes should be in stock around the
second week in March. Prices are $3.40 for the 4oz jar and $10.00 for the pint
size.
