Ceramics Insider Tip "Marble Technique" There are several ways to do glaze
marbling, but this is our favorite! Place a large piece of plastic wrap on your
work surface. Carefully pour a large puddle of white glaze (IN1100 or SN351) on
the plastic. Now spoon/dribble on two or more colors randomly in a 'loose' wavy
pattern over your glaze. These colors can either be glazes (IN1031 and IN1054
might be nice) or Concepts (CN142 and CN163 are pretty). Then use a palette
knife, toothpick or a popsicle stick to marbleize the way you would a cake
(swirled lightly, but not mixed). Application method depends on your piece of
bisque. For flat items, simply lay them in the marbled colors. For rounded
items roll in the mixture being sure to cover all parts. Then carefully lift
and let the colors flow a bit to look even more like marble. Gently wipe away
any drips and let dry. Fire.
