Quik-Crackle
Quik-Crackle is a nontoxic, water-soluble medium used between two nonfired water-based colors to create an antiqued wood or aged pottery lookBase coat your bisque with acrylics, Ultra Metallics or Liquid Pearls. When dry, apply 1 smooth even coat of Quick-Crackle. Clean brush immediately.Let Quik-Crackle dry for 20 minutes to one hour. Working quickly, with a clean soft brush, apply an even coat of contrasting topcoat color over the Quik-Crackle.Topcoat with acrylics.Do not apply more color after crackling begins.

Duncan Tips & Techniques:
Cracking follows the direction in which the topcoat
was applied.
Overbrushing can reduce the amount of cracking. Apply acrylic
quickly with one smooth, even coat.
Achieve large, bold cracks by applying a
heavier topcoat.
When cracking has completed and the topcoat is completely
dry, seal wtih a spray sealer, then add brushstrokes or design
work.
